Are DJ Nights/Club Nights allowed at Brixton East 1871?
Club Nights / DJ Parties are NOT permitted at Brixton East 1871. 

If a client books Brixton East 1871 for a permitted ticketed event or private party, but it transpires as either a Club Night or DJ Party, then the event will be either cancelled before the date or shut down on the day. Any expenses, security or rental costs incurred by the client hiring Brixton East 1871 will NOT be refunded. 

How do I secure my booking?
To lock the date for your event, you would need to pay the 35% Deposit within 10 days of pencilling your date, the Stage Payment 120 days before your event and the Final Payment 90 days before your event. We do have a strict payment system and there is an auto-cancellation when payments are not received on time. Please note, until you have paid your 35% Deposit there is no confirmation of your booking, you must also confirm the date requested by email.

We have showrounds on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings, please contact us via our website form to request an appointment.

What's your venue capacity?
You can seat 120 guests on the ground floor or 60 on the first. The max/cap of guests and staff is 230 people.

What's included in the hire?
We are a dry hire venue, so you would need to source a caterer, bar, sound-system, insurance and decoration. We do have a list of good local suppliers that might help with this process (please see the "Supplier List" section on our website).

Do I need events insurance?                                                     
If you rent Brixton East 1871 for an event it is mandatory that you purchase Public Liability insurance, we recommend selecting cover for £5 million. Brixton East 1871 has its own public liability, however we require all customers to take out there own. Maybe try Failing to do this will result in your event being cancelled. It is also essential that you request copies of insurance from your suppliers for your own reference. Failing to provide the correct events insurance will result in your event being cancelled.

What about event security?
Door supervision is mandatory, it is essential to up hold our License with Lambeth Council. Brixton East 1871 only permit MJT security Service Ltd - - please contact Myron to obtain a quote. Clients are NOT permitted to bring in their own security company. Door supervision must be booked 120 days before your event. Failing to book door supervision with MJT Security Ltd will result in your event being cancelled.

What time would our event finish?
You can dance and drink, until 2.00am on a Friday or Saturday, or 1.00am on a Thursday, or midnight Monday to Wednesday or 11.30pm on a Sunday.

Where can I get furniture for my event?
If required, you may rent furniture, props and certain equipment from Brixton East 1871 (please see our Furniture Hire page). We require all furniture orders 14 days before your event. When can we set up our wedding?
With regards to setup for a wedding on either a Friday or Saturday, you have access the day before from 11.00am to 8.00pm and on your wedding from 9.00am to 2.00am and on the following day from 9.00am to 11.00am for collections (timings may vary depending upon which day you book as our licensing hours are different - please see prices section for more details). 

For other events how long do I have for setup?
We provide two hours free setup time for all other events, if you require additional time this will be charged. Please specify your timings and event description so we can provide an accurate quote.

Where can our guests park their cars?
There is free street parking outside the venue from 5.30pm Friday to 8.30am Monday. Otherwise there is parking 24/7 on Moorland Road and Millbrook road, five minutes walk away.

Can we have the wedding ceremony at BE1871?
Unfortunately we are not licensed for ceremonies.

Do you have disabled access?
We have limited disabled access to just the ground floor, which includes a disabled toilet. However we can hire a stairlift for your party at an extra cost.
